Origin & Attribution
From NeNe Leakes, the Atlanta businesswoman and original cast member of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, who delivered it during an argument with Kandi Burruss at the season ten reunion, aired in early 2018. The construction is older Black women's speech — the plain restatement as refusal — but Leakes's delivery is what fixed the exact wording and put it into national circulation, from there into memes, captions and ordinary conversation. It belongs to the same run of her phrases the culture absorbed whole, alongside "bloop" and "close your legs to married men."
